Interferon gamma, IFNG Gamma, is a major immune-modulating molecule produced mainly by T cells and natural killer cells activated by antigens, mitogens or alloantigens. Most immune cells express IFNG Gamma receptors and respond to IFNG Gamma-induced signaling by up-regulating MHC class I expression. Human IFNG Gamma does not show cross-reactivity with mouse. Recombinant mouse IFNG Gamma is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 134 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 15.6 kDa.

Bioactivity of Mouse Interferon-gamma Recombinant Protein. The specific activity, as determined in a viral challenge assay using EMC virus on L929 cells, is 1.15-2.3 x 107 Units/mg. The corresponding ED50 is 0.086-0.043 ng/ml. The typical expected range of less than 0.2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of greater than 5 x 106 units/mg.
