- Human IgM (myeloma) Fc5u fragment Texas Red conjugate consists of only the u (mu) chain of the Fc fragment. Immunoglobulin M is the largest antibody isotype and the first to be secreted against an initial exposure to antigen. IgM is predominantly produced in the spleen. IgM is formed from covalently linking 5 immunoglobulins together. Due to this large size, IgM is typically isolated to the serum.

- This product was prepared from normal serum by delipidation, selective precipitation and tandem size exclusion chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Human IgM and anti-Human Serum. No reaction was observed against anti-Human IgG F(c) or anti-Human IgA.
