- Human IgM Fab mu Biotin is ideal for investigators involved in serum protein component research. IgM is by far the physically largest antibody in the human circulatory system. It is the first antibody to appear in response to initial exposure to antigen. The spleen is the major site of specific IgM production. Distinct heavy chains differ in size and composition; alpha and gamma contain approximately 450 amino acids, while u and E Epsilon have approximately 550 amino acids.

- This product was prepared from normal serum by delipidation, salt fractionation, ion exchange chromatography followed by enzyme digestion and extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Human IgM, anti-Human IgG F(ab')2 and anti-Human Serum. No reaction was observed against anti-Human IgM Fc5u.
