Following DNA damage; the interaction with PCNA is disrupted; facilitating the interaction between monoubiquitinated PCNA and the translesion DNA synthesis DNA polymerase eta (POLH) at stalled replisomes; facilitating the bypass of replication-fork-blocking lesions. Also acts as a regulator of centrosome number.
