As medicine becomes ever more personalised, therapies are developed that have significant benefits, but may also be limited to a fraction of the total cases and biology dependent.

The majority of tissue samples are processed as Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded (FFPE) as this offers the most convenient and cost-effective way to store tissues for a long time, and preserves proteins, DNA, RNA and glycans for later study, so are a sample type of choice for a variety of spatial biology techniques as they offer preservation of markers and the wider tumour micro environment (TME).
TMA can also be effective in Quality control allowing staining performance to be monitored in a high throughput manner, with on slide positive and negative controls for full confidence in the results.
