Arigo's new Insulin receptor Multiplex ELISA Kit
Insulin resistance (IR) is a metabolic condition where target tissues lose their sensitivity to insulin, resulting in reduced glucose uptake and utilization. IR is a major risk factor associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), metabolic syndrome (MetS), and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Research indicates a strong correlation between adipokine levels and insulin resistance.
To support research in this area, Arigo provides a Human IR-associated Adipokine Multiplex ELISA Kit (ARG83643) for simultaneous quantification of multiple IR-related adipokines.

Adipokine Profiles
Adiponectin
As the most abundant adipokine, adiponectin plays a critical role in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism. Its plasma levels are inversely correlated with insulin resistance, making it a key biomarker for metabolic health.
Leptin
Secreted primarily by adipose tissue, leptin influences appetite control, energy balance, and glucose metabolism. Its plasma concentration is directly correlated with insulin resistance.
Resistin
Produced by mononuclear cells and adipocytes, resistin contributes to impaired glucose homeostasis and promotes insulin resistance. Elevated resistin levels are positively associated with IR.
IL-6
A multifunctional cytokine, IL-6 is involved in inflammation, immune regulation, and host defence. It contributes to insulin resistance by disrupting IRS-1-mediated insulin signalling pathways.
