- Water-soluble, substrate for sortase mediated labeling of proteins. Sortase catalyzes a transpeptidase reaction between a specific internal sequence of a protein and an amine group present on the N-terminus of triglycine recently has become an area of great interest. This method of labeling proteins has been denoted as “Sortagging”. Cy3 is a water-soluble, red fluorescent pH-insensitive from pH 4 to pH 10 probe. Its excitation peak is ideally suited for the 532 nm or 555 nm laser lines and its absorption and emission spectra are almost identical to those of Alexa Fluor® 555, CF® 555 Dye or any other Cyanine3 based fluorescent dyes.
