- Sulfo TCO-Maleimide a water-soluble reagent that enables simple and efficient incorporation of TCO moiety onto cysteine-containing peptides or other thiol-containing molecules. The maleimide group specifically and efficiently reacts with reduced thiols (sulfhydryl groups, –SH) at pH 6.5 to 7.5 to form stable thioether bonds. The hydrophilic sulfonated spacer arm greatly improves water solubility of TCO derivatized molecules, in many cases making it completely soluble in aqueous media. A short spacer arm adds minimal mass to modified molecules
