- Reagents are stable for twelve months from the date of EDG-8 is also known as sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor-5 (S1P5) and nerve growth factor-related G protein-coupled receptor-1 (NRG-1). EDG-8 is a 398aa seven transmembrane receptor that binds the lysolipid phosphoric acid mediator, sphingosine 1-phosphate. Extracellular portions of human EDG-8 show 96% and 97% aa identity with mouse and rat EDG-8, respectively. Isoform 1 is expressed at a low level in peripheral tissues. Isoform 2 has an alternate C- terminal that is 88aa shorter and is expressed mainly in brain, spleen, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells. EDG-8 is upregulated in large granular lymphocytic leukemias. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels, 1x10e6 cells. Validated using HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with human and mouse EDG8 and eGFP. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
