- Mouse Renin is a secreted, 42-47kD glycosylated member of the peptidase A1 family. It is an aspartyl protease that cleaves angiotensinogen to form angiotensin I. In mouse, there are two genes that code for Renin. One is in the submandibular gland and the other is in the kidney. The two mature Renin molecules are 95% aa identical. Renal Renin (Renin 1) is synthesized as a 381aa proform (aa22-402). In the kidney, pro-Renin is proteolytically cleaved after Thr71 to generate a mature enzyme. Mouse pro-Renin shares 70% and 85% aa sequence identity with human and rat pro-Renin, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-0.4ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
