Monoclonal
Extra Details:
Human prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) is a non-specific phosphomonoesterase, synthesized and secreted into seminal plasma under androgenic control. Human PAP is a 100kD glycoprotein containing two subunits of ~50kD each. It catalyzes the dephosphorylation of organic monophosphate esters, demonstrating optimum activity at an acid pH. Produced by the prostatic epithelium, serum levels of PAP are very low in healthy individuals, but are often elevated in malignant and benign prostatic disease, where it has been used as a marker of diagnosis and therapy control of cancer of the prostate gland. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Affinity Constant: 1x10e9 L/mole Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
