- Myogenin, also called MYF4, is a 34kD, 224aa basic-HLH transcription factor member of the myogenic regulatory factor family. It induces fibroblastic differentiation to myoblasts and is expressed most highly early in the skeletal muscle differentiation process. Within the region used as an immunogen, human myogenin shares 93% and 91% aa identity with mouse and rat myogenin, respectively. Isoforms may exist that diverge at 155aa, 246aa or that are truncated at 215aa. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
