- High density lipoprotein (HDL) is a complex that transports cholesterol in the blood to the liver. It is the smallest and densest of the lipoproteins as it contains the highest proportion of protein. It is thought that high levels of HDL can help to remove cholesterol from atheroma in the arteries thereby decreasing the risk of heart disease. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
