- IL-6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth, nerve cells differentiation in hepatocytes, and acute phase reactants. Applications: Suitable for use in Neutralization, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: incubated overnight at 4˚C stains colchicine injected mouse brain (cingulate cortex) tissue Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
