- Extra Details:
- The members of the Hantavirus genus of the family Bunyaviridae are spherical, enveloped viruses containing tripartite negative-sense RNA as their genome. The three genomic RNA segments, designated L, M, and S, encode an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, envelope glycoproteins (G1 and G2), and nucleocapsid (N) protein, respectively. Hantavirus infections can cause two serious and often fatal human diseases, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome and hantaviral pulmonary syndrome, characterized by lung damage and cardiac dysfunction. Humans are infected with hantaviruses from rodent reservoirs that are persistently infected without signs of disease. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
