- Extra Details:
- GroEL protein is the major heat shock protein of E.coli and belongs to the chaperonin (HSP60) family. GroEL protein prevents misfolding of proteins and promotes the refolding and proper assembly of unfolded polypeptiedes generated under stress condition. GroEL gene was amplified by PCR from E.coli and cloned into an expression vector. G8976-01A1 was overexpressed in E.coli and was purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Recombinant protein corresponding to GroEL, a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain conjtaining 548 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 57.3kD and expressed in E. coli Applications: Suitable for use in mass spectroscopy, in cryo-electron microscopy imaging as control for testing particle distribution and as standard in infrared spectrum measurements. Other applications not tested. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
