- FOLR4 (Folate receptor 4; also FR4 and folate receptor dH2O and folate binding protein 3) is a 34-36kD member of the folate receptor family of molecules. Based on mouse, it appears to be a marker for subsets of T cells. In particular, and in conjunction with CD25, FR4hiCD25hi expression defines Treg cells, FR4loCD25+ expression pattern identifies effector memory T cells, and a FR4hiCD25- combination characterizes central memory T cells. Mature human FOLR4 is 225aa in length (aa20-244). It contains virtually no identifiable motifs. There is one potential splice variant that shows a five aa substitution for (aa111-116). Over (aa134-220) human FOLR4 shares 72% aa identity with mouse FOLR4. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using A431 human epithelial carcinoma cell line Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
