- Dopamine D2 receptor is known to exist in the short (D2S) and the long (D2L)forms that are encoded by splice variants of a single gene and differ only by the presence of an additional 29aa in the intracellular, cytoplasmic loop 3 (1). D2L receptor is a 446aa, G-protein coupled, and transmembrane receptor protein. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Western Blot, though not tested, may potentially be used as an application. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 (ECL) The predicted size of D2 form is approx. 50kD. However, additional bands at approx. 100kD, 68kD, and 50kD, and others are typically seen in various tissues (2-3). Approx. 100-400ug membrane protein/lane should be loaded to visualize various bands. ELISA: 1:10,000-50,000. Use 1ug/ml to coat ELISA plates. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Control Peptide: D9016-45: Dopamine Receptor, D2S, L, Human, Control Peptide Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
