Extra Details:
Represents an excellent marker for distinguishing carcinomas from all non-epithelial tumors. Specifically reacts with cytokeratins 5 and 8 present in nearly all epithelia. Polypeptide reacting: Mr 52,500, Mr 58,000 cytokeratins (type II cytokeratins nos. 5+8) of human epithelial cells. Epitope has been mapped to aa353-367 on alpha helical rod domain. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:10 for 1hr at RT. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded tissue and cytological material): 1:10 at 4°C O/N. Requires protease pretreatment prior to antibody application. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Controls: MCF-7, RT 112, HT-29, Detroit 562, RPMI 2650, SSC-12, bovine BMGE+H, BMGE-H, MDB cell lines Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
