- Cyclin E is a cell cycle protein, 50kD, that complexes with cdk2 and is required for DNA synthesis. Cyclin E/cdk2 activity peaks just before S phase. Cyclin E expression is mediated by E2F and is cleared by the ubiquitin proteolytic pathway after phosphorylation. Alterations in cyclin E expression in cancer has been correlated with increasing stage and grade of tumor. These results suggest that cyclin E may be useful as a prognostic marker for breast cancer and gastric cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Gel Mobility Shift Assay. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
