- Clusterin has been implicated in numerous processes including active cell death, immune regulation, cell adhesion and morphological transformation. Clusterin (previousiy named SP-40) is a glycoprotein, 80kD comprising two distinct 40kD polypeptide chains. It shows marked similarity, both physicochemically and in immunohistological distribution, to the single chain, 80kD, Sprotein, an additional component of the SC5b-9 complex. Clusterin is a secreted glycoprotein of which the exact function remains a matter for speculation. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
