- Cellulase is an enzyme complex useful for the isolation of plant protoplasts, biomass conversion, carbohydrate research, liquid food clarification and cell dissociation. Trichoderma reesei converts cellulose to glucose via multi-enzymatic hydrolysis of beta-glucans, xylans and hemicellulosic polymers. • For the treatment of cellulosic products and non-starch polysaccharides • Contains all three enzymatic activities: endo-cellulase, exo-cellulase (cellobiohydrolase), and beta-glucosidase • Contains significant side activities including beta-glucanase, hemicellulase, and xylanase • Hydrolyzes microcellulosic particles on filters • Reduces viscosity of fibrous raw materials • Not genetically engineered (non-GE) production organism • Food grade Source: Trichoderma reesei CAS No: 9012-54-8 EC No: 3.2.1.4 Appearance: Amber liquid pH: 4.9-5.3 Specific Gravity: 1.0-1.2g/ml Enzyme Activity: 6200-7580IU/g. No protease, lipase or amylase side activity detected. Unit Definition: 1 unit releases 1µmole of reducing sugars (glucose equivalents) per minute from microcrystalline cellulose at 50ºC, pH 4.8. Inactivation: 80°C at pH 8 for 30 minutes Typical Hydrolysis Usage Rate: 0.05-0.1% Stability and Storage: Store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
