- Murine CD79 is a 23/21kD disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of an alpha chain (CD79a/mb-1) and a beta chain (CD79b/B29) that associates non-covalently with membrane immunoglobulin (Ig) to form the B cell receptor (BCR) complex. Its expression is restricted to B lymphocytes, first appearing on the surface at the pro-B cell stage prior to productive Ig gene rearrangements and remaining through all stages of B-cell differentiation prior to plasma cells. It has been proposed that the CD79 complex on pro-B cell surfaces may function to induce early B-cell differentiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: ≤ 1ug/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: WEHI231B cell lymphoma cells from (Balb/c x NZB)F1 mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
