- CD5, a member of the scavenger receptor superfamily of cell surface receptors, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein whose ligand is CD72. It is expressed on most thymocytes, all mature T cells, and a subset of B cells (B-1 cells). CD5 plays a role in regulation of T cell activation and signaling.1-5 Applications: • Flow cytometry • Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections) • Western blotting • Immunoprecipitation Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 2ul/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. PE/CY5 combination conjugate is used as a third fluorochrome in multicolor flow cytometry applications when only a single 488nm excitation source is available. Antibodies are covalently coupled using heterobifunctional linking reagents, resulting in an optimal conjugation format for flow cytometry.
