- Extra Details:
- Betaine homocysteine methyltransferase (BHMT), a cytosolic enzyme, and its partial fragments were discovered as autolysosomal membrane proteins from rat liver in the presence of leupeptin. BHMT was also found in human liver. BHMT transfers a methyl group from betaine to homocysteine to form DMG (dimethylglycine) and Met. In vivo, liver BHMT expression is influenced by dietary changes in sulfur amino acids, choline and betaine. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
