- Extra Details:
- Human Alpha 1 antichymotrypsin is an alpha globulin glycoprotein and serpin. This human glycoprotein is found in alpha(1)-globulin region in human serum. Human Alpha 1-antichymotrypsin (ACT) (Alpha 1-ACT) inhibits chymotrypsin-like proteinases in vivo and has cytotoxic killer-cell activity in vitro and also has a role as an acute-phase protein and is active in the control of immunologic and inflammatory processes, and as a tumor marker. Human ACT is a member of the serpin superfamily. Human Alpha 1-Antichymotrypsin (Alpha 1-ACT) (ACT) can complex with human PSA to form human PSA-ACT complex which is used as an indicator of tumor mass and clinical stage of prostate cancer.
