Extra Details:
Plays an important role in the regulation of cell survival, cell division, angiogenesis, cell differentiation and cell migration. Functions as potent mitogen in vitro. Acts as a ligand for FGFR1 and integrins. Binds to FGFR1 in the presence of heparin leading to FGFR1 dimerization and activation via sequential autophosphorylation on tyrosine residues which act as docking sites for interacting proteins, leading to the activation of several signaling cascades. Binds to integrin ITGAV Recombinant protein corresponding to aa16-155 from human Fibroblast growth factor 1 receptor, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~15.9kD Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined in a cell proliferation assay using BALB/c 3T3 cells is 0.2-2ng/ml. Amino Acid Sequence: FNLPPGNYKKPKLLYCSNGGHFLRILPDGTVDGTRDRSDQHIQLQLSAESVGEVYIKSTETGQYLAMDTDGLLYGSQTPNEECLFLERLEENHYNTYISKKHAEKNWFVGLKKNGSCKRGPRTHYGQKAILFLPLPVSSD Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
