- Transport of macromolecules between the cytoplasm and nucleus occurs through nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) embedded in the nuclear envelope. NPCs are composed of subcomplexes, and NUP37 is part of one such subcomplex, Nup107-160. Nup37 was relatively abundant, with 16 to 32 copies per NPC. By database analysis, Cronshaw et al. (2002) identified the deduced amino acid sequence of human NUP37, which contains WD repeats and has a calculated molecular mass of 37kD. Transient transfection of NUP37 cDNA in HeLa cells resulted in punctate rim localization typical of nucleoporins. NPCs are composed of subcomplexes, and NUP37 is part of one such subcomplex, Nup107-160. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.01-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
