- Extra Details:
- Control Peptide for P9102-71C. PGP9.5 is a soluble cytoplasmic protein with a molecular weight of ~25kD. It is present in neurons and in cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system. PGP9.5 functions as a tissue-specific ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrolase isoenzyme. This enzyme is also known as UCH-L1. Because of its abundance in nerves, it has been widely used as a marker for peripheral nerve fibers. It was also discovered as a gene mutated in some rare famial forms of Parkinson's disease. Interestingly a common allelic variant of UCHL1, the S18Y polymorphism is actually protective against Parkinson's disease. It is also a marker for cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system and their tumors. Source: Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa175-191, GASSEDTLLKDAAKVCR, of human PGP9.5. Molecular Weight: ~25kD Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
