- IL6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It is a potent inducer of the acute phase response. This protein plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells Involved in lymphocyte and monocyte differentiation. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth and induces nerve cells differentiation. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa25-211 from mouse IL6, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~24kD (208aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C.
