- Extra Details:
- Glutathione S-transferase mu 1 isoform 2, also known as GSTM1, is a glutathione S-transferase that belongs to the mu class. GSTs (glutathione S-transferase) are differentially expressed in lung, liver and kidney tissue and, notably, three isoforms (GSTA1-1, GSTA1-4 and GSTM1) localize to the mitochondria in addition to the cytoplasm. The GSTM1 of enzymes functions in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds, including carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, environmental toxins and products of oxidative stress, by conjugation with glutathione. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-181 from human GSTM1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E. coli. Accession No. NP_666533 Molecular Weight: ~23.6kD (203aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
