- Extra Details:
- Persephin (PSPN), is a neurotrophic protein and member of the Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family, which plays a key role in the development of the central nervous system (CNS). PSPN is synthesized throughout the nervous system, and promotes ventral midbrain dompaminergic neuron survival and ureteric bud branching, but unlike GDNF and Neurturin, does not support peripheral neuron survival. PSPN signals through a multicomponent complex consisting of the binding receptor GFRalpha4, co-expressed with the signalling Ret receptor tyrosine kinase. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-2.0ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant human Persephin is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
