- Complement factor I, also known as C3B/C4B inactivator, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CFI gene. Complement Factor I (fI) is a protein of the complement system, first isolated in 1966 in guinea pig serum that regulates complement activation by cleaving cell-bound or fluid phase C3b and C4b. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:4000-1:8000 Western Blot: 1:2000-1:4000 Immunodiffusion: 1:8 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
