Extra Details:
CERK, which phosphorylates Cer to produce ceramide 1-phosphate (C1P), was initially described as a Ca2+-stimulated lipid kinase that copurified with brain synaptic vesicles. CERK activity has been reported in HL60 cells, mast cells, and neutrophils. CERK is involved in phagolysosome formation in polymorphonuclear leukocytes and also in liposome fusion. C1P has been reported to have mitogenic effects. More recently, C1P was found to induce arachidonic acid release and prostanoid synthesis. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-537 from human CERK, fused to Flag-tag at C-terminal, expressed in baculovirus expression system. Molecular Weight: ~60kD Applications: Suitable for use in the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Specific Activity: ~142pmol/min/ug Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
