- Calmodulin belongs to a family of structurally homologous Ca2+-binding proteins. CALM1 gene is located on human chromosome 14q32.11. Calmodulin is a highly conserved 17kD calcium binding protein found in all eukaryotic cells. It is a multifunctional molecule. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Dot Blot, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:000 using a bovine brain calmodulin preparation. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
