Multifunctional protein that controls proliferation, differentiation and other functions in many cell types. Many cells synthesize TGFB1 and have specific receptors for it. It positively and negatively regulates many other growth factors. It plays an important role in bone remodeling as it is a potent stimulator of osteoblastic bone formation, causing chemotaxis, proliferation and differentiation in committed osteoblasts (By similarity). Stimulates sustained production of collagen through the activation of CREB3L1 by regulated intramembrane proteolysis (RIP). Partial recombinant protein corresponding to aa279-390 from human Transforming growth factor beta-1 protein, expressed in Mammalian cell. Swiss/Uniprot Accession: P01137 Molecular Weight: ~12.8kD Biological Acitivty: Measured in a cell inhibition assay using TF-1 cells at IL4 presence, the ED50 for this effect is ≤0.1ng/ml. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
