- Extra Details:
- Glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that has roles in numerous signaling pathways and cellular processes, including cell proliferation and survival, as well as neural development and plasticity. It is composed of an N-terminal β-strand domain, a kinase domain, and a C-terminal α-helical domain. GSK3β is constitutively active, ubiquitously expressed, and localizes predominantly to the cytosol but is also found in the nucleus and mitochondria. It is inhibited by phosphorylation at serine 9 (Ser9), which is mediated by a variety of kinases, including PKA and Akt, and has roles in insulin, growth factor, and Wnt signaling pathways. GSK3β is involved in several pathophysiological conditions, such as diabetes, cancer, inflammation, and neurological or psychiatric disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and bipolar disorder. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
