About this Product
SKU:
046165
Application:
Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry
Clonality:
Polyclonal
Extra Details:
Fractin (fragment of actin) is a caspase-specific cleavage product of actin and serves as a novel marker of apoptosis-related events. The antibody has been shown to detect the processes and cell bodies of degenerating neurons and plaque-associated microglia in Alzheimer’s disease (Yang et al., 1998). It has recently been reported that Fractin may have a functional role in apoptotic signaling in oligodendrocytes (Schulz, R., et al., Glia, 2009, in press). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:1000 Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Host:
Rabbit
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the C-terminal region of the 32kD actin fragment.
Isotype:
IgG
Physical State:
Supplied as a liquid. No preservative added.
Purity:
Serum
Shipping Conditions:
Blue Ice
Specificity:
Recognizes endogenous levels of the ~32kD fractin protein. Shows no reactivity toward intact actin. There is often a ladder of smaller bands in cells or culture or in vivo preparations due to further degradation by other proteases. Detects the processes and cell bodies of degenerating neurons and plaque-associated microglia in Alzheimer's disease in Immunohistochemistry. Species Crossreactivity: h
