- FABP4 is a fatty acid binding protein in adipocytes. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABPs regulate the fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. aP2, the mouse form of FABP4, seems to be central to the pathway that links obesity to insulin resistance. Recombinant protein corresponding to human FABP4, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed iin E. coli. Swiss/Uniprot: P15090 Molecular Weight: ~16kD (SDS-PAGE) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
