Extra Details:
4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal (HHE) BSA Conjugate is a lipid peroxidation marker used to study oxidative damage in neural tissues. HHE is generated from the oxidation of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and forms covalent adducts with proteins, altering their structure and function. In the nervous system, HHE accumulation is associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, synaptic impairment, and neuroinflammation. Elevated HHE levels have been observed in neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and ischemic brain injury, where they contribute to neuronal apoptosis and glial activation. The BSA-conjugated form allows for sensitive detection of HHE-modified proteins in immunoassays and histological studies. It supports research into the molecular mechanisms of oxidative stress and the development of antioxidant therapies targeting lipid peroxidation in neurodegeneration.
