- Cyclic L27-11 is a cyclic peptide-like antibiotic with strong antibacterial activity against specific bacteria such as Pseudomonas sp. Cyclic L27-11 shows nanomolar antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas sp.; especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Cyclic L27-11 interferes with the function of bacterial outer membrane protein LptD; preventing the normal transport of lipopolysaccharide (LPS); leading to the accumulation of membrane-like substances in bacterial cells; which in turn affects the survival of bacteria. Cyclic L27-11 can be used in the development of antibacterial agents[1].
