- 4-Di-2-ASP is a fluorescent dye. 4-Di-2-ASP can be taken up by the plasma membrane and mitochondria of living excitable cells; resulting in granular fluorescent staining inside the cells. 4-Di-2-ASP can selectively label pulmonary neuroepithelial bodies (NEBs) in living vibratome sections of lung tissue from various rodent and rabbit species; it can also label nerve fibers innervating NEBs and intrinsic ganglion neurons adjacent to NEBs in these sections[1][2].
