- This antibody recognizes Lipoprotein lipase (LPL), which plays a key role in lipoprotein metabolism. The primary function of this lipase is the hydrolysis of triglycerides of circulating chylomicrons and very low density lipoproteins (VLDL). The antibody recognizes LPL in different species (except mice) but does not recognize hepatic, pancreatic or related lipases.
