- CD28 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed by a subset of T lymphocytes. The antigen is a disulphide-linked homodimer of 44kD chains. CD28 is a ligand for the B cell marker CD80 (B7) and is important in the interaction of B and T cells during the immune response. It has been reported that this clone also recognizes an epitope of CD28 expressed by NK cells, which is not recognized by clones of 9
