- Inhibits the ubiquitin ligase anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) by inhibiting binding and activation by the APC activators Cdc20 and Cdh1. TAME inhibits cyclin proteolysis in Xenopus extracts (IC50 = 12 uM) and inhibits Cdc20 association with APC at 200 uM. It stabilizes cyclin B1 by prematurely terminating ubiquitination. Substrate for trypsin, thrombin, plasmin, and other proteases.
