- Extra Details:
- BigLEN (mouse) is a neuropeptide that is derived from the precursor peptide ProSAAS and is the endogenous agonist for the previously orphaned GPR171 receptor. BigLEN (mouse) is one of the most abundant neuropeptides in the brain, and it modulates feeding related behaviours within the hypothalamus. The BigLEN-GPR171 system is widely expressed in the basolateral amygdala (BLA) and has also been shown to have an important role in the pathology of anxiety and mood disorders.
