[D-Ala2]-deltorphin II is antinociceptive in vivo and and approximately equipotent with morphine in producing antinociception in models of pain. The antinociceptive effects of [D-Ala2]-deltorphin II are reversed by D Delta opioid receptor antagonists, unlike those of morphine.
