Extra Details:
Mastoparan X is one of the mastoparans that was first isolated from the venom of the Japanese yellow hornet. Mastoparan X shows considerable antimicrobial activity against Gram positive bacteria and can stimulate phospholipase A2 activity as well as being a G protein activator that binds to Gi and Go. Mastoparan X exhibits potent anticancer activity toward human glioblastoma multiforme cells, a process that occurs by membranolytic activity leading to necrosis.
