Extra Details:: TNFRSF7, also known as CD27, is a type I membrane glycoprotein of the TNF receptor family, with a molecular weight of 55KDa, forming disulfide-linked homodimers. Its extracellular domain contains three cysteine-rich repeats, and it binds to its trimeric ligand CD70 (CD27L). It is expressed on T-cells, NK-cells and B-cells, mediating antigen-specific T-cell activation, expansion and memory formation. CD70 ligation activates the TRAF2-PTPN6 axis, inhibiting LCK phosphorylation to regulate T-cell memory adaptation. It also modulates hematopoiesis via negative feedback on leukocyte differentiation and regulates Th2 lymphocyte function. Soluble CD27 (sCD27), its extracellular domain, is released post lymphocyte activation and serves as a diagnostic marker in certain diseases.
