PI4KIIA phosphorylates PtdIns at the D-4 position which is an essential step in the biosynthesis of PtdInsPs. PI4KIIA is a novel regulator of tumor growth by its action on angiogenesis and HIF-1alpha regulation. PI4KIIA generates PtdIns4P-rich domains within the Golgi which regulate targeting of clathrin adaptor AP-1 complexes. PI4KIIA is also required for Wnt to regulate LRP6 phosphorylation. \n \n, Echelon
